 The Mountain |
| Heartless Bastards - The Mountain - Album Review This latest release is bolstered by a new, more powerful rhythm section in Doni Shchroader on drums and Billy White on bass to match Wennerstrom’s vocals. The Mountain brings a fuzzy avalanche on the first, self-titled track. You’re immediately aware of Mike McCarthy’s (producer on four Spoon albums) influence. There is a more polished studio sound to this album than the last two releases, featuring a variety of richly layered instruments and slightly psychedelic studio effects. Read More ... T.P. Magee |

 Thistle Spring |
| Horse Feathers - Thistle Spring - Album Review Kill Rock Stars recording artists ,Horse Feathers, have a new album. It's called Thistle Spring and brings punctuation to House with No Home (2008) and begins a new chapter for the band. J Mascis and our Jazzmaster |
|
| J Mascis Signs His Signature Model Jazzmaster The J Mascis Signature Jazzmaster was the first guitar Fender issued from our generation of alternative and indie artists. The Walkmen - You & Me |
| The Walkmen - You & Me - Album Review I was stood up at the prom my freshman year of high school. It was tough ……… because I had to drink all those wine coolers by myself. I found a different world during this innocent moment of sorrow and foreshadowing on the life to come. I found a bizarrow world. A place where there is a slip in time and dream. Read More ... Time To Die |
| The Dodos - Time To Die - Album Review Meric Long has a gorgeous choirboy voice with range and style that’s long been missing since Andy Partridge of XTC called it quits. Whether he’s sweetly crooning “When you turn onto one, you turn onto all” on the North Country folk-ish ballad Acorn Factory or professing “I don’t want to go in the fire. I just want to stay in my home” on airy single Fables, Long’s voice is consistently enchanting. Read More ... Casey Bowers |

| Dropkick Murphys Concert Review 6.23.09
The outdoor stage at the LC in Columbus Ohio had a hidden gem this summer. The Offspring played and ask the Dropkick Murphys to open. James of DKM said they were not use to opening because they just have so many songs they like to play live. That night they had to cram it into 45 minutes. “We get less stage time and less pizza but it’s a chance to reach new fans”. Read More ... Jason White |
